It never ceases to surprise us how many great companies there are hidden behind ‘nobody knows who designed it’ logos.

Having been acquired by Investec, our brief was to assist in the transition of Mann Island from an established motor finance broker into an ambitious and dynamic entity with a powerful ‘hybrid’ funding offer, underwritten by the power of the parent brand.

As is often the case where rebranding is powered by acquisition, the branding and identity becomes a lightening conductor for the change.

We embraced that spotlight, hosting workshops across all levels of the company to engage people in the change and ensure that the new brand reflected both its heritage and its future potential.

‘Fuelling finance’ and the fluid M icon emerged as the new proposition and design, unveiled at a companywide meeting, hours before the team threw themselves in to their Christmas party – a fitting launchpad for any rebrand.

Winning made more fun

Like the Investec management team, we found ourselves overnighting in Liverpool on occasion to be prepared for early workshops and presentations. We’d heartily recommend Z-Hotels – comfortable, central, economical and free cheese and wine – a pretty strong brand proposition right there.
