July 1st 2012 will see the Factor3 girls (Cathy, Vic, Prabha, Alice, Kay and Amanda) running /walking 5k at Cheltenham Racecourse in support of Cancer Research UK. Following a slightly hesitant start – the girls have entered into the spirit of the event whole heartedly…debating questions such as:
- should we walk or run? (answer: half are walking, half are running)
- should we do it in fancy dress? (answer: NO)
- should we dress in pink and wear an orange wig…or dress in orange and wear a pink wig? (answer: undecided, whichever way we do it, the wig and the outfit are guaranteed to clash! LOL
But seriously, we’re doing our bit to raise money and awareness for a truly worthwhile cause. Anyone who’s lost a loved one to cancer knows how tough it can be to come to terms with. And it’s great to know that there’s work being done by Cancer Research UK which focuses on saving lives through research.
Race for Life events have been going on throughout the UK since 1994. It’s the largest women only fundraising event in the UK and we’re really proud to be a part of it.
So here we are counting down to the main event, with 3 weeks to go before the big day. There’s been a bit of training going on (I think?) and while we may not be the fastest or the fittest group there – I can guarantee we’ll probably be the funniest!
July 1st 2012 … Factor3 Girls v Cancer… Bring it on!
