Blogging…love it or hate it, it’s a great way for companies to share useful (and sometimes not so useful) information about their products, industry or even just about what interests them.
It’s not the easiest thing in the world to do well…so hats off to those that manage to achieve that balance of useful, interesting and engaging…and even more so to those that manage it in 300-500 words!
My blog post today is about other people’s blogs. I know it sounds like a bit of a cop out but these are the companies whose blog articles I find myself clicking through to/clipping to Evernote most frequently and in my book that says they must be doing something right.
Working for a fully-integrated agency means that digital touches each and every one of us in some way, shape or form. As an account manager the need to stay informed, without necessarily going into all the major techie detail is a challenge and I’ve found the Econsultancy blogs to be hugely useful and engaging. I like the mix of articles and subject areas covered… and have to confess that there’s usually at least one article on each of the emails they send that I find myself clicking on to. Shows the power of blog articles such as this one….
Keeping up to date on what’s happening in the marketing world is a must. As a CIM Chartered Marketer, it’s always interesting to read about what other marketers are doing. The Marketer posts some very useful articles highlighting what brands and companies are doing to keep apace and adapt to a fast evolving marketing landscape. No two days are ever the same in our world and change is rapidly becoming the norm rather than the exception to the rule. Content may be king…but knowledge is power.
My final recommendation is not work-related.
As someone who likes running, I love the mix of factual and fun articles available on the Real Buzz site. Is there a runner out there who could resist from clicking onto an article entitled ‘5 Foods That Make You Run Faster’? I think not! For me, Real Buzz manages to get the balance right between factual, motivational and fun…just what you need when you want a quick time-out from your busy working day!
When it comes to reading blog posts these three get my vote…along with a certain agency blog which I think manages to strike the right note for those days when you need a bit of inspiration…and those when you just need a little bit of fun!
