Due to historic production issues, Wavin’s reputation in vortex valves was not what it needed to be. Partnering with the inventors of the ‘vortex’ principle presented an opportunity to successfully reposition, restore confidence and drive sales.

We turned to a classic B2B technique of dramatizing the product truth – in this case, harnessing the power of the way water will naturally spiral into a vortex, controlling the flow rate through a valve which, incredibly, needs no moving parts to work. The powerful image draws attention to the fact that Wavin has partnered with the inventors of the original valve to create the ultimate vortex valve solution.

Winning made more fun

We had fun creating what appears to be a single image of a tornado, but is in fact a 15-part composition of elements – the white crests in the sea, for example, are from an image of high atmosphere clouds.
